The Drive to Inspire – Career Development Talk made a powerful stop at the University of Ghana this week, bringing together a vibrant community of students eager to explore leadership, purpose, and personal growth.
Addressing the gathering under the theme “Leadership and Purpose in the 21st Century,” Hon. Sammi Awuku, Member of Parliament for Akuapem North Constituency encouraged the youth to embrace leadership not as a title but as a calling to serve, create, and inspire.
“Leadership in this century isn’t about titles, it’s about purpose,” he shared. “It’s about using your voice before someone speaks for you, creating opportunities before someone hands them to you, and serving before seeking the spotlight.”
The interactive session, organized in collaboration with the University of Ghana SRC, sought to empower students to take charge of their personal and professional development. Participants had the opportunity to engage with Hon. Awuku on practical steps toward building impactful careers rooted in service and integrity.
He urged young people to lead with humility and intentionality, reminding them that “the world is not waiting, and neither should you. But in all things, desire to serve and learn with humility.”
The Drive to Inspire initiative continues to provide a platform for meaningful conversations that challenge and equip Ghana’s youth to redefine leadership and success in their communities.
