It was a real pleasure meeting up with the charismatic and inspirational Chairman of the Kenya African National Union (KANU) in Nairobi. The meeting brought together two like-minded leaders committed to shaping the future of democratic governance across the African continent

They had a thoughtful exchange on how Centre Right Democratic parties across Africa can take a more active role in defending democracy, both as advocates and activists for freedom, good governance, and inclusion. The discussion centered on the vital role political parties must play in strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring that the voices of the people are always heard.

Beyond the broader continental strategies, they also shared ideas on how to support our colleagues who face persecution in Tanzania and Uganda as they fight for good and transparent governance, Rule of Law, and freedom. Solidarity across borders, we agreed, is essential in advancing the cause of democracy everywhere.

The meeting in Nairobi reaffirmed that the struggle for good governance knows no borders and that together, African leaders committed to freedom and inclusion can drive real change across the continent.
