A significant step toward improved healthcare delivery was taken today, May 2 with the official commissioning of the newly renovated Dialysis Centre at the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital in Akuapem North.
The state of the art facility brings critical dialysis services closer to residents, eliminating the need for long distance travel in the treatment of kidneyrelated conditions. This project aligns with the constituency’s broader vision of enhancing access to quality healthcare for all.
The commissioning event was attended by key stakeholders, including the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Alban S.K. Bagbin, who graced the occasion and also made a generous personal contribution toward the project’s completion. His support underscores the national significance of localized healthcare development efforts.

The project was spearheaded by SHEILD Ghana, whose commitment to improving community health outcomes was instrumental in bringing the initiative to life. The effort was further bolstered by the partnership and sponsorship of Enterprise Group PLC, a key private sector player in the country’s development space.
Local chiefs, Opinion Leaders, healthcare professionals, and residents of Akuapem North were present to witness the commissioning. Many expressed appreciation for the timely intervention, highlighting its potential to save lives and reduce the burden on families affected by kidney disease.
The renovation of the Dialysis Centre fulfills a major campaign pledge to prioritize quality healthcare across the constituency. It reflects a growing momentum in ongoing development efforts aimed at transforming Akuapem North through collaboration, accountability, and results driven leadership.

This milestone stands as a testament to what is possible when public representatives, civil society, and the private sector come together with a shared purpose.
The people of Okuapeman can look forward to more people-centered projects as the journey toward inclusive and sustainable development continues.
