Hon. Samuel Awuku had the distinct pleasure of hosting the President of the World Lotteries Association (WLA), Andreas Kötter, and Executive Director, Lucas Esposito, during their one-day working visit to Ghana.

The high-level meeting provided an opportunity for fruitful discussions on how Hon. Awuku can continue to contribute to responsible gaming and the fight against addiction across the African continent. His experience and commitment to social responsibility positioned him as a key voice in these critical conversations.

It was particularly encouraging to witness the WLA’s commitment to strengthening science and data-driven safeguards to protect minors from the dangers of gambling. Hon. Awuku reiterated the Association’s sacred duty to protect young people, emphasizing the importance of education and the urgent need for reforms that make lotteries more socially responsible.
