It was a day of celebration, excellence, and inspiration as Hon. Samuel Awuku had an amazing time with the vibrant students of Okuapeman Senior High School at their 68th Speech & Prize Giving Day!

What a sight to behold a thriving community of 3,803 brilliant minds gathered together to celebrate academic excellence and personal achievement. The energy was infectious, the pride unmistakable.

Among the 3,803 students, what stood out most were the 2,200 bold, confident young women lighting the way. Their presence and participation were a powerful reminder that when girls are educated and empowered, entire communities are transformed.

It was a great honour to share the day with two distinguished personalities, Okuapehene and Oseadeayo Akwasi Akuffo III, whose guidance continues to shape the traditional area, and Ghana’s Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno. Together, they added gravitas to an already momentous occasion.

Okuapehene, Oseadeayo Akwasi Akuffo III, delivered words of wisdom to the students, encouraging them to remain disciplined and focused on their studies. His presence underscored the strong bond between traditional authority and educational institutions in Akuapem.

The IGP also addressed the gathering, sharing insights on leadership, discipline, and the role of young people in building a safer, more prosperous Ghana. His words resonated deeply with the students, many of whom aspire to national leadership roles. The IGP also addressed the gathering, sharing insights on leadership, discipline, and the role of young people in building a safer, more prosperous Ghana. Hon. Samuel Awuku took his turn at the podium, presenting awards to deserving students who had distinguished themselves academically and in extracurricular activities. Each handshake, each trophy handed over, was a moment of encouragement and affirmation.

From academic excellence to leadership and community service, the award recipients represented the very best of Okuapeman SHS. Their achievements are a testament to the dedication of teachers, the support of parents, and the resilience of the students themselves.

The celebration was not complete without vibrant cultural performances that showcased the rich heritage of the Akuapem people. Drumming, dancing, and colourful displays brought the event to life and reminded everyone of the importance of preserving our traditions.

As the event drew to a close, Hon. Awuku posed for photos with the excited students, many of whom expressed gratitude for his presence and encouragement. For them, seeing a leader take time to celebrate their achievements was a powerful motivator to aim even higher.
